Starting a Children's House.
How to go about it:
It may seem like a big accomplishment to run over 50 centres and to provide 3000 children with education, but with a risk of understating our efforts:It is really quite simple.
1. We find a plantation company, which is willing to open a school for their children.
2. After this the company will prepare the building as well as tables and chairs.
3. We train the teacher and apply for the permit. We have training of teachers going on at some of the Children's Houses all the time.
4. After that the school will officially open and the parents and teachers form a Parents-Teacher Association, which will take care of daily running of the Children's House. The children then start to go to school every day learning reading, writing, Bahasa Malaysia, English, science and other subjects.
5. We have monthly meetings at the plantations, where the progress of the education is measured. Our BCAS Principal Mr. Riduan Donald, who is also a brilliant educator is providing training at monthly seminars for all our teachers.
The Really Crucial Thing is, that we need someone to fund the Learning Centre. For a relatively small amount of RM 18,000 (US$ 4500), we can run a Learning Centre for 60 children for one year. It is less than the yearly cost of a single child at primary level in the USA and many other developed Countries.
Please help us to be able to reach these poorest of children in Malaysia.
